Convert SimBrief.com Flight plans for use with 124thATC

Hi folks,

here's a quick (and rather dirty ) Python script I came up with to convert FMS plans generated for XP11 on simbrief.com for use with the 124thATC plugin.

Simply drop it into your Output/FMS Plans folder and run it from there (you'll need to have Python2.7 installed on your system).

If you're on Linux, you can pipe the script's output through "more" or "less" to paginate it and select your steerpoints accordingly (see below for an example output).

Small update: V0.02 now includes the flight levels in an 124thATC compatible format as well. You can manually edit these of course to implement a gradual ascent / descent as you like. As simbrief.com includes sensible FLTs in their FMC output I think this should also take care of the flight plan not considering the terrain involved.

Wow, this looks good, just tried it on an exported V10 fms file but the file includes the SID and STAR, checked with a V11 one and it does not, so even though I'm flying V10 I'll import V11 fms files.

Hi folks,

I'm working on V0.03 at the moment which should make life a bit easier for the Linux crowd using this excellent plugin.

The new version will optionally create the "LastFlightPlan.txt" file for you in the plugin's data directory so the non-working cut and paste from the Linux terminal to a LUA text input box should not be a problem anymore.

As an added bonus, you'll also find the flight levels, departure and arrival ICAOs and so on automatically filled in by the script (it only works on a single fms file that you optionally pass as an argument to the script; if you call it the old way, all fms files will get converted to a flightplan on standard output).

Let me know if you're interested in helping with alpha testing and I'll send you an update.
